Each year Acer has a two-prong launch schedule: in the Spring it descends upon New York City for its annual global press conference (GPC); then at the end of summer it utilises the IFA tech show, in Berlin, to announce its upcoming products.
For IFA 2019 that conference - called Next@IFA - is being live-streamed at the following time on Wednesday 4 September:
- UK: 09:30 (BST)
- EU: 10:30 (CEST)
- Taipei: 16:30 (CST)
- US east coast: 04:30 (EDT)
- US west coast: 01:30 (PDT)
You can watch all the action in real time as Acer CEO, Jason Chen, takes to the stage to announce what is, as the event is called, coming Next at Acer for this year and beyond.
We've seen the Acer teaser poster, shown below, and while the company typically uses the showcase to show-off its latest and greatest laptops, Predator gaming goodies and other accessories, the backdrop of this latest teaser looks almost, well, phone-like. Could it be? We suspect it's more likely to be a dedicated PC chassis instead, but you never know...
So what else should we expect? Well, in recent years Acer has gone big on education and creativity. This year we've already seen the ConceptD launch, along with updated Predator Helios, but IFA tends to be more focused on the consumer laptop lines. An update to the Swift and Spin laptop series is typical of this show.
We'll be live at the product unveil, so will bring coverage from the event in addition to hands-on first impressions of the crème de la crème of this year's top IFA announcements products. Watch this space…
